Lodge or Camp FB
Day 3:
Serengeti National Park
We head towards the Serengeti National Park. En route there is an opportunity to visit Olduvai Gorge. It is within this steep sided ravine that Louis and Mary Leakey made some of the world’s most important archaeological discoveries in the 1950s. Here in a small museum we are able to see evidence of our ancestors that have been dated back 2.5 million years. After lunch we drive into the Serengeti itself and the rest of the afternoon is spent game viewing in the vast plains that are broken only by stands of acacia trees and the occasional kopje. In December, January and February we will normally meet the migration with large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle. There are always plenty of resident animals, such as giraffe, buffalo, and elephant, and many large predators such as lion, cheetah, and leopard. We return to our special tented camp for the night. Lodge or Camp FB
Day 4:
Serengeti National Park
We have another full day in this wonderful park, rising early to make the most of our time. Our guides will choose the best spotting locations for the time of year; we can spend time at the Hippo pool watching these majestic animals laze about in the cool water happily living alongside the crocodiles, watch a big pride of lions, be in the middle of the migration, sometimes surrounded by wildebeest, sometimes by zebras, which travel with the wildebeest. We journey from the wide open plains to the kopjes: these volcanic rocky outcrops provide protection and shelter for a wide variety of animals and from the top we can look out across the vast grasslands of the Serengeti. This diverse and interesting landscape will provide us with the ultimate in game viewing, we will hopefully see all of the plain games; elephants, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lions and it you are lucky the elusive leopard and cheetah, as well as huge amounts of interesting bird life, from the elegant secretary birds to the flightless ostrich. We return to our special tented camp for the night. Lodge or Camp FB
Day 5:
Ngorongoro Crater
We start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ngorongoro is a special place in that it is a Conservation Area, not a National Park; this means that the whole area is managed for both the animals and the local Masai people who graze their cattle alongside the indigenous wildlife. During the drive in Ngorongoro we have a chance to glimpse something of the Masai way of life. After stopping at the entrance gate, where there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape, we will drive around the rim of the Crater itself, and from here we can look down and see the herd of wildebeest or buffalos. Finally we descend into the crater. The crater walls provide a natural sanctuary for the animals, which means there is plenty to see: lions, elephants, buffalo, rhino and leopard (if you are lucky). The only animal you won’t see in here is a giraffe, whose long legs are unable to cope with the steeps sides of the crater. In the late afternoon we travel back to Lodge or Camp for dinner and overnight: FB
Day 6:
Ngorongro to Arusha.
Today you’ll experience the culture and traditions of the local Maasai on the way to Arusha. Your local guide will show you a Maasai Boma and explain the way on how Maasai live; after a short visit in the maasai boma we will drive back to Lodge or Hotel.

serengeti ballon-kili slope tours and safari

Serengeti Balloon Safaris

Serengeti Balloon Safari is the most beautiful balloon flight in the world and the ultimate Safari Experience which makes you enjoy the most beautiful migration of wildebeests through the endless plain of Serengeti.
5:00 am, Serengeti Balloon Safaris will collect you from your central Serengeti lodge or camp, and transfer you by Landrover to our launch site near Masai Kopjes. Here you will meet your pilot, receive a briefing and watch the inflation of your balloon.
At dawn we take off, rising as the sun rises and float in whichever direction the winds of the morning take us. Your pilot can precisely control the altitude of your balloon: sometimes flying at treetop height, sometimes lower, offering a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities of the wildlife below.
At other times he will ascend to 1000? or more to see the enormity and wonderful panorama of the Serengeti. From time to time the pilot must put more heat into the balloon with the powerful whisper burners. In between these burns, there is silence apart from the natural sounds below.
OUT OF AFRICA BREAKFAST
Imagine sitting at a table under the shade of a classic umbrella tree on the Serengeti Plains. The table is laid with bone china and king’s silver cutlery.
The flight is for about one hour depending on conditions, and eventually you must land. You celebrate in the traditional manner with champagne (well, an excellent sparkling wine) before sitting down to a full English breakfast.
9:30 am Arrive at Seronera ready to continue your day’s activities.
Fresh tropical fruits, warm freshly baked bread and English traditional breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, mushroom and tomato are all served by stewards in customary Swahili dress.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
This adventure will fit in with all safari itineraries that include a night in central Serengeti (Serena Lodge, Seronera Lodge, Sopa Lodge, Mbuzimawe Camp or any central Serengeti camp site) Or Western Corridor Camps ( Grumeti River Camp, Kirawira Camp, Mbalageti Camp).
The Flight will last for about 1 hour. Over some of the most amazing natural wilderness.
The Serengeti plains and woodlands are world famous for the variety and sheer number of its animal population. A Serengeti Balloon Safari however, is not merely a game viewing experience, but rather an opportunity for an adventure and unique perspective over outstanding quintessentially African landscapes.
Of course there can be no guarantee that you will see specific animals from the balloon.
We have however seen some amazing wildlife from the balloon and witnessed many incidents such as lion kills, cheetah stalking and killing, leopard hunting and of course THE ANNUAL MILLION STRONG WILDEBEEST MIGRATION, one of the natural wonders of the world.
SerengetiBalloon Safaris are acutely aware of their environmental responsibilities and are proud of their ecological credentials. Serengeti Balloon Safaris (SBS) pay a substantial royalty to Tanzania National Parks for each passenger. These funds are used for conservation purposes in the Serengeti.
