Itinerary Detail
DAY 1: ARUSHA – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, start the safari from Arusha to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park is famous for its dense wildlife population, which is most spectacular between June and September, the dry period. During this time thousands of animals- wildebeest, buffalo, and Oryx migrate from the dry Maasai steeple to the Tarangire River looking for water. Lions, leopards, and other predators follow the herds. Tarangire is home to over 500 varieties of birds. Have lunch and take a late afternoon game viewing and drive to the camp for dinner and overnight at Sun Bright Campsite.
DAY 2: FULL-DAY LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, we drive on a tarmac road 40km with a lunch box to Lake Manyara National Park for afternoon game drives. Start the game drive through the underground water forest, proceed to Acacia woodland savanna open land, pass by a hot water spring, and proceed to Lake Manyara. Lake Manyara is home to many flamingos and other water birds. The park is home to three-climbing lions, hippos, elephants, zebra, buffalo, giraffes, baboons, blue and velvet monkeys, warthog, and more. About 350 species of birds have been recorded here. You will have a picnic lunch, dinner, and overnight at Sunbright Campsite.
DAY 3: KARATU TO SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
You will have an early morning breakfast in the camp, then drive to the great Serengeti National Park with lunch and game drives en route. During your afternoon game drive in the park, you might see lions, leopards, elephants, cheetahs, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, wild dogs, gazelles, crocodiles, and more. Lots of birds including the migrants. Proceed with game viewing around Seronera or eastward, dinner and overnight will be at Seronera Campsite.
DAY 4: FULL GAME DRIVE AT SERENGETI
Today you will leave after breakfast and with a lunch packet you will drive as you follow the migration paths depending on the location. We will spend the day following the great migration of about 1.5 million Wildebeests and 500,000 Zebras migrating through the Serengeti Ecosystem. Dangers are everywhere and packs of lions, cheetahs, and other carnivores are everywhere waiting for the right moment to strike. Crocodiles in the Serengeti River have no mercy as the herds cross the river. Thousands are swept by the arrogant waters and the scenes are amazing. Later in the early evening, you will drive for dinner and overnight at the Campsite.
DAY 5: SERENGETI – NGORONGORO CRATER
After breakfast, depart from Serengeti Ngorongoro Crater Rim. Wake up for early morning game drives in Serengeti then head back to the campsite for breakfast. You will then check out and drive with lunch and game viewing en route to Ngorongoro CraterRimm for dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite.
DAY 6: NGORONGORO CRATER – ARUSHA
Wake up early in the morning for breakfast and then descend into the crater floor for game drives. All the big five (rhino, lion, buffalo, and elephant) live in this wonderful caldera. Others that live here are zebra, hippo, wildebeest, hyena, and more. Birds include flamingos on the Soda Lake, geese, storks, vultures, and more. Your lunch will be served at the picnic site in the Crater at Ngoitoktok Swamp, a Hippo pool. After lunch, drive back to Arusha.
